Avery Stackle, PhD

Associate Jury Consultant

IMS Associate Jury Consultant Avery Stackle, PhD, partners with attorneys to better understand the human factors that influence juror attitudes, credibility assessments, and case outcomes. Through the analysis of mock trial and focus group data, she translates juror feedback into actionable strategy, highlighting opportunities, potential challenges, and critical considerations for jury selection in high-stakes litigation.

Over the course of her academic career, Avery’s research experience spans legal psychology, trauma-informed interviewing, eyewitness and victim interviewing practices, juror perceptions, and law enforcement decision-making. She has worked closely with law enforcement agencies, providing training in investigative interviewing techniques and assisting with the development of interview protocols for complex investigations.

Avery has authored and co-authored scholarly publications and presentations on juror perceptions, forensic interviewing, memory, trauma, and investigative interviewing. She regularly presents at conferences hosted by the American Psychology-Law Society and the American Society of Trial Consultants and remains active in both organizations.

In her personal time, Avery is an avid reader and loves to explore local coffee shops. She is also a former D1 swimmer and still enjoys daily exercise, like joining her weekly run club. Avery is based in Austin, Texas, with her partner Kevin and their dogs Lincoln and Kaya.
